Biography: The Buffalo Stained Glass Works, operated by Ferdinand J. Riester and Godfrey Frohe, created windows for many churches in the late nineteenth century. Burns, George L., 1820 - 1873. He was one of the first glass stainers in Buffalo, getting his start with William G. Miller (Buffalo Stained Glass Works), appearing in the City directories as early as 1844 as a painter, advertised glass staining and enameling as early as 1852. He later started his own firm, the Glass and Enameler Studio (See Gaining Reputation for Staining and Painting Glass, Buffalo Commercial Advertiser, September 14, 1854.
