WindowBuilding Name: St. Josaphat Church
Studio Name: Detroit Stained Glass Works, The
Window Shape: 3 (arched)
Subject/Title of Window: St. Bartholomew
Brief Description of Subject: Window description: St. Bartholomew carries a book on his left hand symbolizing that he preached the Gospel. I do not recognize the instrument in his right hand probably figures in the method of his death. According to various legends he was either crucified, skinned alive, or beheaded.
Note: The crosshatching on the screen that was used for protection on the outside is quite visible on his clothes.
The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
