Building Notes: Built by Thomas S. Starks, a blacksmith and a cooper, for his family. He died in 1875. His wife, Phebe Cortright lived alone until 1888. Her oldest son Clarendan lived in the house until 1899. Clarenden's daughter Eva Daisy Sparks and her husband lived there from 1901-1968. It was extensively rebuilt and leaded windows were added by grand nephew, in 1970.
