Subject/Title of Window: Window of passion
Brief Description of Subject: This window presents four scenes from Christ’s passion experience. At the top of the window are three bags of money which refer to Matthew’s occupation as a tax collector as well as a battle axe and this is a symbol for him. Below this Christ is seen riding into Jerusalem and is greeted joyfully for the people waving palm branches. Below this scene, Christ washes Peter’s feet before the last supper. Beneath this Christ stands before Pilate who washes his hands as a sign that he does not want to be accountable for shedding the blood of this just man. Below this is a symbol, a crown of thorns and nails. At the bottom of the panel is Christ crucified and accompanied by his mother Mary and John.
