Brief Description of Subject: This two lancet window illustrates charity and seeking righteousness.

The picture is based on a 1901 painting by Charles W. Donson titled "Charity of Dorcas." The inscription in the predella is from 1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now abideth faith, hope, and charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." (KJV)

The right lancet's scene is from John 3:1 - 31 --- Jesus teaches Nicodemus. The picture in the lancet is based on a 1937 engraving by the Nazarene School. The inscription in the predella is a variation of the fourth beatitude found in Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they which hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." (NIV)

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
