Brief Description of Subject: Each of the six epistle side aisle windows illuminate a scene from the life of Jesus. This window's scene is taken from Jesus in the Temple age 12. The entire story is found in Luke 2:41 - 52. The Holy Family had gone to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover as required by Jewish law. On the return journey, Jesus went missing.
Picture here are verses 46 - 47, "After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers."
In the predella is a cross in the sun, a symbol for Jesus as the light of the world, and an open book of the scriptures ---- in the context of this scene, Jesus illuminates the Word of God.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
