The four symbols from top to bottom.
Boat With a Sail Bearing the Image of a Cross: This is known as the Barque of Peter (first pope), and symbolizes the Christian Church led by Jesus. Most likely its origin is from Mark 16:16, where Jesus calms the seas to protect the Apostles who were caught in a violent storm on the sea.
Laurel Leaves: A symbol of eternity as the leaves never wilt but remain green.
A Heart Anchor Cross: A symbol for the three Theological Virtues that are received at baptism from the Holy Spirit. FAITH in Jesus symbolized by a cross. HOPE is symbolized by an anchor. This comes from Hebrews 6:19, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul firm and secure." The hope being referred to here is found in Mark 16:16, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved." LOVE of God and neighbor is symbolized by a heart,
An Oil Lamp on a Scroll (word of God): This illuminates Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
