Brief Description of Subject: This description appeared in the January 29, 1979 edition of the Farmington Observer:

"Across the church is a rose window donated by Charles Pettibone in memory of his first wife, Gladys Hazelton Pettibone. Reddish tints of color cast rosy shadows over the pews.

'She was a titian-haired woman and that's why the window has a titian color,' explained Mrs. Esther Meredith, church historian."

Gladys Hazelton Pettibone died in 1916 in childbirth. She was but 26 years old.
