Building Name: St. Charles Catholic Church

City: Newport

Window Shape: 2 (rectangle)

Subject/Title of Window: Ornamental

Brief Description of Subject: Rectangular window, with top five panels identical, bottom one different. Border of blue glass with cross designs. Red corners. Each panel depicts an identical design featuring an eight-pointed star in a circle. Bottom pane was recycled from an "old large window", and seems to depict the bottom of some sort of circular floral design. Name "Cousino" can still be read. Unknown whether donor or commemorated. Probably not artist.
Most of the church's windows were replaced with new ones in 1945. This window was not, and is believed to be in whole or in part an original from 1882. Possibly made by Detroit Stained Glass Works.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
