Building Name: Church of the Divine Child

Studio Name: Willet Hauser Architectural Glass

City: Dearborn

Window Shape: 2 (rectangle)

Subject/Title of Window: Blessed Virgin Shrine Window 2

Brief Description of Subject: On the epistle side wall is a shrine dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. This is the second of the two windows in that shrine.

Comment from "Our Stained Glass Windows" c.1970 "The shrine in the north (epistle side) wall is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin and the panels here portray the traditional symbols of the Blessed Virgin and the Queen of Heaven."

According to this comment this window portrays the Blessed Virgin with traditional symbols as the other window in the shrine portrayed her as Queen of Heaven.

The symbols seen in this window are a book and a tree with a nest filled with three nestlings. I do not know how they relate to the Virgin Mary.

This window was designed by Marguerite Gaudin.

Height: 38"

Width: 10"

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
