Brief Description of Subject: This window was designed for this parish's Gothic styled Church which opened in 1926. Subsequently the congregation needed a larger church and replaced it with a modern styled church which opened in 1957, moving the stained glass to the new Church.
This is the seventh in a series of ten windows, consisting of three scenes each, covering the life of Christ, and were placed in chronological order in the narthex. All of the borders on the scenes feature geometrical patterns alternating with small scenes that is some cases relate to the larger scene they border.
Top Scene: The Appreciative Leper. Story found in Luke 17:11 - 19. As Jesus came into a village, 10 lepers cried out for him to "Have pity on us!" Jesus told them to go see see the priests, and on their way they were cured. "One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him --- and he was a Samaritan, ... Then he said to him, 'Rise and Go; your faith has made you well,' Verses 15 - 19 NIV. The scene depicts nine lepers walking away. The one that returned is kneeling at the feet of Jesus and praising Him while Jesus is motioning for him to rise.
Middle Scene: The Rich Young Man. Story found in Mark 10:17 - 31. A rich man asks Jesus what must he do to get into heaven. Jesus told him he must follow the Commandments. The man told Jesus that he had done so since he was a little boy. The scene depicts Verses 21 and 22 --- "Jesus looked at him and loved him. 'One thing you lack,' he said. 'Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven, then come follow me.' At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth," NIV.
Bottom Scene: Jesus Teaches Nicodemus. Story found in John 3:1 -21. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and believed Jesus was sent from God. Because he was afraid to be seen with Jesus, he came to see him at night for help in understanding his message. The scene pictures Jesus, seated with a scroll on his lap, teaching a kneeling Nicodemus. The moon and stars seen in the background indicates nighttime.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
