Brief Description of Subject: The donor wanted the "design to symbolize the character of her late husband who was President of a large bread bakery ... and was a man who had his feet on the ground and loved nature.

Artist's description of window ---
"The central motif of the decorative flowering tree, springing from the symbolic sheaf of wheat, gives opportunity for colorful expression, while the field of cool whites accented with light blue will impart a brilliance and sparkle, admitting an abundance of illumination. Six golden birds flying upward, in the field surrounding the tree, suggest joyful aspiration, and the light blue border is designed in conventional cloud forms accented with golden stars of heavenly steadfastness."

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
