Brief Description of Subject: The archangel at the top is Michael: The name "Michael" is a Hebrew name that means "Who is like God". In Scriptures, he is the warrior who leads the army of God. His most famous battle was against Satan in the Book of Revelations.
The archangel in the middle is Gabriel. The name "Gabriel" is a Hebrew name that means "God is Great". In Scriptures, Gabriel was the messenger angel --- delivering messages to Daniel, Zacharias and most noted for the greeting to the Virgin Mary in the Annunciation --- "Ave Maria".
The archangel at the bottom is Raphael. The name "Raphael" in Hebrew means "He who heals". In the book of Tobit, Raphael cures a blind man as well as drives out an evil spirit. Raphael is seen here with a healing staff.
