Subject/Title of Window: Six Champions of Heroes

Brief Description of Subject: Dedication of the Chancel Window
To the Glory of God-such a window beautifies God’s house, the subject depiction in the windows relate the message of God as outlined in Hebrew 11:1, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

The Six champions of Heroes shown in the window give Glory to the Pioneer and perfect or of our faith, Jesus Christ
Each of these heroes depicted in the window give witness to their reliance upon the promises of God in Christ, they stand at out Altar to witness to us that we are to remain faithful trusting in the Words of our great God.

Noah
“By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as ye unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the having of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith” Hebrews 5:9
The Dove above the figure of Noah is the Dove of Peace. Noah sent forth the dove out of the ark and the dove came back to him in the evening and lo, in her mouth a freshly plucked olive leaf” (Genesis 8:11)
 
Abraham
Abraham is portrayed in the figure of the man about the slay his son, Isaac. “By faith, Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was ready to offer up his only son, of whom it was said, through Isaac shall your descendants be named. Hebrew 11:17
This figure which depicts the sacrifice of Christ on Mount Moriah is fittingly placed above out Communion Table.

Moses
Moses, a majestic figure, at the threshold of the Red Sea with the parting water at his feet; the People of Israel who followed him from the land of Egypt were ready to enter the waters with him. The land of Egypt is pictured as a pyramid in the background. Moses considered abuse suffered for the Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked for a reward. By Faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the King; for he endured as seeing him who is invisible. By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land. Hebrew 11:26,27,29

Paul
Although not mentioned in Hebrews 11, for he was not an old Testament personality the old window because he was the great preacher of faith. He is on his way to trial and death, yet by the preaching of the Gospel converts pagans to the Christian Faith. He who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy. Galatians 1:23

Sarah
The only woman in the picture is holding her son Isaac whom she received by promise. By Faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered Him faithful who had promised. You and I are included, therefore, in this window for the Scripture says “Therefore from one man and Him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as enumerable grains of sand by the seashore” Hebrew 11:12

David
The king with his Lyre, sings to the heart of the faithful his songs of faith in the City of Jerusalem. Many are the songs of David which have kept people in the faith even unto the end of their days.

The symbols that are in the window are also important to the subject of Faith, the Cross in the form of an anchor. The Anchor cross was used by the earl Christians in the Catacombs.
We have this (God’s Promise) as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner shrine. Hebrews 6:19

The Sacrament of Baptism is a symbolized by the shall laid upon palm leaves. The palm leave was given to the winners in contest of strength and skill. With a Christian they signify the heavenly regard a greatly multitude’ with palm branches in their hands and crying with a loud voice salvation belongs to our God. Revelations 7:9. The faithful receive such reward of Salvation at baptism.

The Lords Supper is symbolized by the Chalice with the host above it. The Crown of thorns surrounding the Chalice, the Gold Cross upon which the entire medallion is laid, represents the Passion of Christ by which he gives us His body and Bloody by death. It is significant that this symbol is placed close to the Communion Table.
