Brief Description of Subject: Brief Description: Medallion in center contains attributes of the apostle Bartholomew. It is thought that he met his death by being skinned alive and then beheaded with a scimitar --- thus the attribute of the scimitar. He died for his preaching the word of God -- hence the Bible.
