This is the 12th window in this series and contains symbols for Pentecost which is celebrated on the 7th Sunday after Easter. The events that took place on that day are covered in Acts chapter 2; brief synopsis -- the virgin Mary, Apostles and Disciples were gathered in a room in Jerusalem to celebrate the Jewish feast of Shavuot when suddenly they heard a violent WIND and TONGUES OF FIRE settled on their heads and they were filled with the HOLY SPIRIT..... A large crowd had gathered outside when they heard the great wind; Peter came out and told the crowd that Jesus, the one who had been CRUCIFIED and RESURRECTED, was the SAVIOR OF THE WORLD, repent and be BAPTIZED in the name of the Lord ... That day around 3000 were baptized. Symbols seen in this window: 3 tongues of fire, descending dove (Holy Spirit) coming down on a yellow (divine) wind, a cross (crucifixion) on top of an orb (Jesus Savior of the world), laurel leaves (resurrection), drop of water on orb (baptism).

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
