Brief Description of Subject: Originally there were three large 12 foot mosaics designed especially for the chapel in our former Plymouth Church. These were made in Italy in 1949. The chuch burned in 1971 and the mosaics were removed from the ruins.  With no vertical space suitable in the new building, a restoration plan evolved without altering the designs of the figures in the panels themselves.  Each section was reconstructed and certain areas restored to complete the six art units with antique red frames which were installed in the six alcoves of the centrum during 1977 and 1978.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
