Prayer: The censer is a vessel in which incense is burned. In Christian symbolism the smoke rising to heaven symbolizes the prayers of the faithful rising to God, Psalms 141:1-2, Revelation 8:4. The censer is an attribute of St. Lawrence and St. Stephen.
