Subject/Title of Window: “Homemaking” Martha at Bethany and Ruth
Brief Description of Subject: Entering, the first aisle window to the right is Homemaking, typified by Martha at Bethandy and Ruth. In the left hand lancet Martha holds a wine jug (Luke 10:40) and is surrounded by the chalice and basket of bread as emblems. In the predella below Christ is shown in the home of Mary and Martha at Bethany - He and Mary seated and Martha ministering to them. Ruth, holding wheat which she had gleaned, is shown in the right of Old Testament lancet with wheat and sickle emblems. In the small predella, Ruth is following Naomi while Orpha returns to her own people (Ruth 1:8-22).
