Subject/Title of Window: The Resurrection
Brief Description of Subject: The east window portrays the resurrection. In the center lancet, Christ, with a Cruciform halo, is surrounded by a vesica or aureole. He bears the banner of the resurrection and is standing on conventional clouds. The angel in the left hand lancet bears the phoenix, emblem of the resurrection, while the butterfly, another of its emblems, is worked into a background. The angel in the right hand lancet is holding the Agnus Dei, personal symbol of Christ, and the lamb is shown lying on the book with the seven seals. The pomegranate, an accepted symbol of the richness of divine grace, is also used as an emblem.
