Subject/Title of Window: St. Peter
Brief Description of Subject: The bottom portion of this window depicts Jesus handing the “keys to the kingdom of heaven” to St. Peter. The center portion of the window depicts Peter standing with his hands raised and a large key hanging from his belt. The upper portion of the window depicts a rooster facing left, crowing against a red background. This emblem represents St. Peter’s denials the night Jesus was arrested. Peter told Jesus that he would never deny him, and Jesus told him that he would before the rooster crowed twice the next morning, Peter would deny him three times and he did.
