Window Shape: 5 (gothic arched, 2 vertical sections)

Subject/Title of Window: The Little Children and Jesus

Brief Description of Subject: Jesus welcomes children: “Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.” (Matthew 19)

This set of windows (0, 1, 11, 12) originally came from a church in Minnesota and were placed in the first building of the Bethesda Bible Church at 760 Lowell Street in Ypsilanti in 1968. This first church was built in 1962 and is now an apartment complex called Belfry Apartments. The construction of the current church on Huron St. began in 1989 and was completed in 1993. The window set was moved to the new building and installed above the Baptistry.
