Brief Description of Subject: St. John. The bust of St. John is depicted with an eagle on his shoulder.
The Last Supper: Matthew 26:17-35, Mark 14:12-31, Luke 22:1-38, I Corinthians 11:23-26. Jesus with twelve apostles (institution of the Holy Eucharist).
The Sacrifice of Melchizedech: Genesis 14:18ff., cf. also references in the New Testament, the letter to the Hebrews, chapters 5-7. King Melchizedech offering bread and wine to Abraham and travelers.
The Sacrifice of Abraham: Genesis 22. Angel holding back Abraham's knife with Issac on an altar, ram in bush.
