Brief Description of Subject: His symbol is the cross saltire (in the form of the “X”). St. Andrew, the brother of St. Peter, is probably second to only St. Peter in popularity. Tradition tells us that he was one of the Apostles to the Gentiles and he is the patron saint of Russia and Scotland. He carries a book, which indicates his work as a preacher of God’s word. His day is November 30th.
