Brief Description of Subject: This non figural window is designed to let light into the Church.

Inside the medallion of the octofoil at the top of the window is a PORTATE CROSS and CROWN. A cross is usually seen erect as at the crucifixion; a portate cross is one that is angled as it would be if you put the cross bar on  your shoulder and the end resting on the ground -- this allows you to more easily bear the weight of the cross. The crown is your reward in heaven -- James 1:12 "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial, because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord promised". The "portate cross and crown" symbolizes the reward in heaven (crown) after trial on earth (portate cross).
