St. Rita Catholic Church Window
Building: St. Rita Catholic Church
City: Clarklake
State: Michigan
This three-panel Holy Family Window at St. Rita Catholic Church portrays Joseph, Mary and the child Jesus standing on the grassy shore of a lake, where a deer drinks and swans float by. At their feet are flowers and arching overhead is a grape arbor, in which birds perch. Beyond the lake a grove of trees forms a verdant background. Joseph wears a carpenter's apron and holds a saw, symbols of his occupation.
St. Rita Catholic Church was designed by Dabbert and Fleming Architects of Jackson. The Holy Family Window, a memorial to Ted Lech, was created in 1992 by Omnibus Studios of Okemos. To view another window with the same theme, visit the Window of the Month for
April 1998.
St. Rita Catholic Church of Clarklake was registered in the Michigan Stained Glass Census by Eldred Kennedy of Clarklake.
