Brief Description of Subject: The symbol of Bartholomew, three flaying knives, portray the manner of his martyrdom. Philip is portrayed by a trefoil cross, referring to his missionary journeys, and by two loaves of bread alluding to his doubt of sufficient bread when Jesus fed the multitude.
