Brief Description of Subject: Thomas is holding a model of the church in his left hand, which is said he erected with his own hands in Milipur, East India. In his right hand he holds a spear which is the symbol of his death. In the background is the eastern sun symbolizing his travels eastward, and the rule and square which symbolizes him building the church. Beneath him are arrows and spears which symbolize his cruel death in India.
