Brief Description of Subject: This gospel side window consists of three scenes from the Gospels separated by geometrical and floral decorations. All quotes from the NKJV Bible.

Top Scene: Boy Christ With the Teachers as found in Luke 2:46 - 47. Jesus had gone missing and his parents frantically searched for Him. "After three days they found Him in the Temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And All who heard Him were astonished at his understanding and answers." In this scene, the lit oil lamp above the boy Christ's head is a symbol for his wisdom.

Middle Scene: Christ in His Father's Carpentry Shop. Christ's father's occupation as a carpenter is given in Matthew 13:55 --- the townspeople of Nazareth refused to believe Jesus could be a prophet, "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary?"

Bottom Scene: Baptism of Christ as found in Luke 3:21 - 22. John, the son of Zacharias, was baptizing the people, "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus was also baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove upon Him."

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
