Window Shape: 3 (arched)

Subject/Title of Window: Virtue of Hope
Brief Description of Subject: Hope is one of the three theological virtues, faith and charity (love) are the others. Quote from the "Concise Catholic Dictionary" ---- The theological virtue of hope is a supernatural gift bestowed by God through which one trusts God will grant eternal life." One receives this gift at Baptism through the Holy Spirit.
In the left hand of the "Virtue of Hope" is an anchor --- early Christian symbol for hope, and over her head is a tongue of fire --- the Holy Spirit. I was not able to identify the stalk of flowers she is holding in her right hand.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
