This is the only remaining example of the windows seen in Trinity Church before the stained glass was given. Though the windows could have been installed in the building about 1858it si more likely that they were given as a result of an appeal by the vestry in 1872 when they voted that individuals of the congregation be invited to furnish windows for the church as donations. The colors are liturgical with red representing the Holy Spirit: blues the Holy Mother; white, the purity of faith; and gold, the treasure of heaven.
The window and the original altar below it are dedicated to several vestrymen who have no other memorial in the church, but who rank with Rodney Paine and David Roodruff as builders of Trinity:
William Withrow Beeson
James Lewis Glen
Rufus Wharton Landon
Lawrence Salter Lardner
William Lardner

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
