Subject/Title of Window: The Butterfly

Brief Description of Subject: The butterfly is a symbol of the resurrection.  In the life of a butterfly, we see a parallel to our own. The butterfly goes from the crawling caterpillar to the chrysalis; there is appears to be lifeless and dead. Then it comes forth as the beautiful, soaring butterfly. The Christian first lives life as one who does not know God; at our conversation a death occurs and a new creature, born of the spirit emerges.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
