Subject/Title of Window: St. Aloysius

Brief Description of Subject: This window has been re-purposed to the chapel at St. Regis in Bloomfield Hills.

Background: St Aloysius Gonzaga S.J. (1668 - 1591) was born into a very powerful family in what is now Italy. Over his parent's objections he joined the Society of Jesus --- Jesuits. He attended to the sick especially victims of the plague. He became very sick and on his death bed his eyes were fixed on a crucifix which he held in his hands and died while saying the name of Jesus.

Description of Window: St Aloysius dressed as a Jesuit is looking down on a crucifix that he is clutching to his heart -- scene at the time of his death. He is also holding a book --- Jesuits were a teaching and missionary order. He is also holding a rosary -- Jesuits stressed the saying of the rosary and wore one as part of their costume.
