Brief Description of Subject: The elements of daily sustenance bread and a cruse of oil with a knife and place upon which to share these gifts. The purple backdrop suggest the promise of Jesus “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40) The open book reveals Christ’s text for his first sermon. The Spirit upon to preach to the poor, to preach deliverance to the captives, to set at liberty them that are bruised” (Luke 4:18). The open hands have been shackled and the open prison door suggest the freedom that come with the sharing of the Christian faith.
