Brief Description of Subject: One in a set of three windows located on the East wall of Nave. Beauty depicts six familiar and diverse works of art. Head of Nefertiti by Thutmose, the Discobolus by Myron, Mt. Fuji and the great waves by Hokusai, the TajMahal, the flying bird by Brancusi and the head of Moses by Michaelangelo. Most windows in the Alumni Memorial Chapel are sets of three on the same general topic with the same donor. This window is grouped with Truth (L3a) and Wisdom (L3b). In many of the windows of this set, a time line is suggested as one views a piece from bottom to top. Here, images of beauty are mixed in respects to any chronology telling of the timelessness of beauty. Designed by Anthony Mako.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
