Subject/Title of Window: The Resurrection
Brief Description of Subject: Because the butterfly emerges from what appears to be death in the chrysalis it is a symbol of the Resurrection of Christ. In this window we see various flowers native to our area. Each symbolizes an aspect of our Christian Faith. The Iris is called “Sword Lily” which is an allusion to the sorrow of the Virgin at the Passion of Christ. Depicted in the foreground are violets, which are a symbol of humility. Tulips, which are one of the first flowers to emerge in the spring, symbolize the prudent and watchful servant. Because the Resurrection of Christ is at the center of our faith this Easter window is centered in this group of windows.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
