Building Notes: St. Paul was founded in 1870, mostly by farmers of German heritage. They built a simple timber-framed Church in 1871. As the congregation increased in size, they were able to replace their plain windows with stained glass windows. With the opening of the Ford Rouge Plant in Dearborn, there was a large increase in its population, and the congregation outgrew its original structure. Construction of the new Church was started in 1926 and dedicated in 1927. It is designed in an English Tudor Gothic style using Sandusky limestone. Some of the stained glass was transferred to the new building and incorporated into windows located in the transept and facade.
