Subject/Title of Window: Birth of Christ and Prophecy of the coming of Christ
Brief Description of Subject: On the left are three symbols: the manger, the staff, and star. These symbolize the birth of Christ; with the manger an emblem of humanity, the staff His humble station as shepherd, and the star the emblem of divinity, Jesus, the guide, is the light of the world. On the right is a medallion of the conventional rose. The rose, a symbol of Christian art since the 13th century signifies the prophecy of the coming of Christ. The Tudor Rose has been used in all forms of church decoration, since 1485 when the Tudor kings ruled England. It symbolizes not only human love but Christ.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
