Brief Description of Subject: The eight north windows represent the development of Christian beliefs and the Christian church prior to the Reformation Christian service symbolized by central figure of St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226 A.D.) arms outstretched. Other figures represent St. Francis comforting animals, helping the needy, building the Church, sending friars out to preach Gospel throughout world. The dominating figureisSt. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226 A.D.) who stands arms spread representing theservice aspect of Christianity. Other figures further develp this guiding principle as St. Francis serves by comforting the animals, helping the need, building the Church, and sending friars outtopreach the Christian gospel throughout the world. The narthex windowsfurther develop the Christian principle of service.
