Brief Description of Subject: The eight north windows represent development of Christian beliefs and Christian Church prior to the Reformation. Central hand of God and days of Creation: 1st day: dividing light from darkness; 2nd day: Dividing water from firmament; 3rd day: Creation of fruits and herbs; 4th day: Creation of celestial bodies; 5th day: creation of creatures in water; 6th day: creation of animals and man; 7th day: rest and worship The emphasis is God in creation.The central symbol is the hand of God emerging from an elliptical whirl, which is connected with the days of Creation. Moving chronologically and counterclockwise are: First Day- Dividing the light from darkness Second day-Dividing the water from the firmament Third day-Creation of the fruits and herbs Forth day-Creation of the celestial bodies Fifth day-Creation of creatures which inhabit the water Sixth day-Creation of animals and men Seventh day-Rest and worship Main leader of Council of Nicea, Athanasium of Alexandria, pictured with back to viewer, brooding over course of Council. On right are symbols of Apostolic creed which gained importance as result of the Council.
