Subject/Title of Window: Tyndale and the Bible
Brief Description of Subject: The eight south windows represent the development of Protestantism, with emphasis on the Methodist Church and Methodist higher education at Adrian College William Tyndale (1492-1536 A.D.) examines newly printed page of his bible in front of printing press at worms (1526). Coat of arms and landscape of city of Worms at lower right, with translated Bible ready for smuggling into England. Top left: Tyndale’s Bibles burning in London. Tyndale burned at stake in 1536. Top right: Myles Coverdale, also concerned with translation of Bible into English language. Tyndale (1492-1536 A.D.) stands examinging the newly printed page of his bible in front of a printing press (1526) at worms. This was the fate of Tyndale who suffered martyrdom at the stake in 1536.
