Subject/Title of Window: Window of the Parables
Brief Description of Subject: Jesus taught many of his lessons by means of parables. This window portrays 4 parables. At the top of the window are three flaying knives which were the instruments of the apostle Bartholomew’s martyrdom. Below this is the good shepherd saving the life of the lost sheep. Below this the loving father receives the prodigal son while the older son and fatted calf stand nearby. At the bottom of the panel is the Chi Rho, an event monogram for Christ. It is placed on top of a stylized mountain from which the word spreads out.
