Building Name: Lincoln Community United Methodist Church

City: Ypsilanti

Subject/Title of Window: Eternal Life

Brief Description of Subject: One of five side windows who represent, together with the Clerestory window above the pulpit, “God is the Light of the World.” This window is derived from the book of Revelation. On the right side of the window rises a golden temple. Precious stones make its foundation and the glory of God provides all light to the Holy City. The plagues, an angular red shape, are collected together. There are two books in the window. In the middle is the golden book, the book of life, where the names of the blessed are inscribed. At the bottom in purple is an empty book cover containing the snake which symbolizes the list of those not entered in the golden book. Passages include: Ephesians 5:14 and Revelations 22:5.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
