Subject/Title of Window: Resurrection

Brief Description of Subject: Left top: Rising Sun (Ascension)-As the sun rises, so in faith, Christians believe the Christ ascended to the right hand of God. Luke 24:50ff Left bottom: Tongues of Fire (Pentecost)-The tongues of fire represented the distribution of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples and other believers on the day of Pentecost. These same tongues of fire throughout the windows represent the presence of the Spirit of God at work from the beginning of Creation. Acts 2:1ff Right top: Butterfly (Resurrection)-The dual life of the caterpillar/butterfly suggests the present and future life expectations of the Christian. Luke 24:1ff Right bottom: Wounded Hands of Christ and Spear-This suggests the post-resurrection appearance of the Christ when Thomas was absent. His belief was fulfilled at the sight of the wounds of the crucifixion. Jon 20:24ff Top Cross: Resurrection Cross-The empty cross with a white drapery suggests Christ’ triumphant victory over death.
