Subject/Title of Window: Tree of Life
Brief Description of Subject: This window is hung in a window in the narthex of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adrian. The maker traveled to the Holy Land in 2010 and saw the original of this mosaic there. She recreated it for the church. With 1273 pieces the mosaic depicts an olive-wood tree with three birds positioned in its leafy branches. A tree of life is mentioned in several places in the Scriptures, most notably in Genesis and Revelation. The three birds represent the Trinity. The Tree suggests the complete fulfillment of Genesis 3:15 with the triumphant return of Jesus Christ and the gathering of His children for eternity.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
