Subject/Title of Window: The Assumption
Brief Description of Subject: The Assumption of the body of Mary into heaven is the last of seven windows situated on the Gospel side of the Church. Each features one of the Seven Joys of Mary.
Although not found in the Bible, the Assumption appeared in Apocryphal books on the life of Mary and is included in the much read Medieval book "Golden Legend '' by Jacobus de Voragine.
The artist has depicted the Assumption with a humbled Blessed Virgin Mary, enclosed in a mandorla, gently being lifted heavenward by angels. Fleurs-de-lis are seen below --- symbols of her virginity.
