Brief Description of Subject: This window is not visible from the nave. One must stand in the back of the sanctuary and look up. It is made with very translucent glass as it functions to illuminate the fresco in the sanctuary.
The fresco, by the renowned artist Jean Charot in 1961, depicts Mary watching her son leave the earth as he ascends into heaven. It is nicknamed the "Pencil Madonna."
The lighting provided by this stained glass window changes noticeably as the sun moves on its daily journey throughout the year. Photo of fresco taken on a morning in May.
A wide angle lens was used to take the picture of the window, thus it appears differently than the outside picture.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
