Brief Description of Subject: Designed for the Baptistery, the artist titled this picture an "Evocation of Baptism."
On the right, a stylized fish in water. This is an early Christian symbol for Baptism --- as a fish cannot live without water, a Christian cannot live without the living water of Baptism.
On the left, just a hint of an anchor cross. An anchor cross symbolizes the hope for eternal life through faith in Christ. This is based on Hebrew 6:18 - 19 "We may have the strongest comfort ... to hold fast the hope set before us. Which we have as an anchor of the soul." (Douay Rheims)

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.
All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.
