Pictured are a carpenter's pincer and a hammer (upside down). These tools refer to Joseph's occupation as a carpenter.
Joseph's occupation is mentioned in Matthew 13:55 --- the people of Nazareth were wondering how is it possible that a local named Jesus could have such wisdom and miraculous powers, and they exclaimed, "Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary?" (RSVCE).
