Brief Description of Subject: This abstract window is in the shape of a trapezoid.

The architect has placed the space for this window high up on a ledge at the back of the synagogue, where it can only be viewed from the bimah (platform).

A story is told that this unusual placement came about from Rabbi Morris Adler, the Rabbi when this synagogue was being designed. During services the congregation would be viewing the large stained glass window over the bimah so this window was placed so that the Rabbi would have a window to view.

This window was fabricated by the Cummings Stained Glass Studios, Inc.

The MSGC is a constantly evolving database. Not all the data that has been collected by volunteers has been sorted and entered. Not every building has been completely documented.

All images in the Index are either born-digital photographs of windows or buildings or are scans of slides, prints, or other published sources. These images have been provided by volunteers and the quality of the material varies widely.

If you have any questions, additions or corrections, or think you can provide better images and are willing to share them, please contact donald20@msu.edu
